It's Official!

What an eventful Friday night!  Our sweet little girl can walk!!!  Damian and I were just talking about how amazing it is that a year ago this time, it was 2 months before Vivian's due date and today we have a perfect little girl who is walking.

Damian's friend Robin and his wife Liz invited us over for dinner.  Liz prepared the most delicious Indian dinner, including home made galub jaman (I doubt I spelled that right), and they were so sweet with Vivi.  They were nice enough to send us home with leftovers and we can't wait to enjoy the meal again.  Thank you so much Robin and Liz for having us over.

And this morning, Vivi showed us how she can wave.

Grandpa Tom and Lola Grace are coming to visit for the weekend and Vivi can't wait to show off her new tricks for them.  We're looking forward to showing Grandpa Bill and Grandma DeDe over Thanksgiving, too!

Another Report

Today when I picked up Vivi, I got another report from Miss Sam.  She said I was going to be so proud of Vivi today (which I always am) and that she took four steps all by herself!!!!!!  She is getting really close to walking.

This evening, Damian and I noticed a couple new accomplishments for her.  She can now pick up puffs and put them into her mouth.  She's also figured out how to wave hi/bye.  Oh, and she loves avocado!  Still no signs of teeth though.  Here's a picture from after her bath.

Uh Oh

Today when I got to Vivi's school, I got an update from one of her teachers, Miss Sam.  She said that Vivi is the toughest girl in the class.  Apparently, she is fearless and is spunky and energetic.  She figured how to climb over the wooden furniture that corrals the kids in the play area a few weeks ago and she is trying to teach the other kids.  She and a little boy named Hudson chase each other around the rocking chair, and she plays peek-a-boo with a little boy named Thad.  It sounds like she likes boys a lot.  Lately, she's been skipping her afternoon naps.  Miss Sam told me that when they put her in her crib to rest, instead of sleeping, she opens the book of photos of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins and puts it over her eyes and just cracks up giggling...she is REALLY into peeky booing!  I even catch her doing it in the car when I look in the rear view mirror.
Aunt Abby warned us that this was going to happen the last time she was at our house...

Peek-a-Boo and the Patty Cake Roll

Damian taught Vivi to do this herself and she LOVES it!  She also loves it when you startle her (such as hiding behind something or around the corner) and saying "boo" in a really loud voice.  She jumps a little and then giggles like crazy.  Currently, this trick is also a successful diversion to get Vivi to lie on her back long enough to change her diaper and put her bottoms, or britches as her daddy calls them, back on.

Vivi learned to Patty Cake, including the roll (I think Grandma DeDe and Lola Grace taught her this), about a month ago and we keep trying to get a video of it.  It's been pretty impossible for us to do this because every time we pull out the camera (or anything electronic...cell phones, computers, remote controls) all she wants is it get to it.  So here is a snipit of Vivi doing the Patty Cake roll.  I hope we get the full version one of these days because it is really adorable.

Our Little Lobster

Vivi dressed up as a little lobster for Halloween.  We went up to her Daddy's office to trick-or-treat and then Tom, Les, Will, and Sarah came over for pizza and trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.  Will dressed up as the cutest Spiderman ever!  It was a fun day for us!!
