Oh to be a kid

Only when your a kid is it okay to have boys in your bed...
...and kiss them in bed!
Vivi was having fun outside.

A Visit from Aunt Abby & Emma

Emma needed some new clothes for camp, so she and Aunt Abby came up to Fayetteville for the afternoon. We had lunch at the grilled cheese restaurant and then yogurt. We had fun shopping!

Silver Dollar City

We visited Silver Dollar City and Papa Tom and Lola Grace went with us. Vivi road a few rides, but was a little apprehensive about the ones that went up in the air.

Spring

Vivi doing one of her favorite things this past spring...balancing on our rock walls.
Sister love...
Look at these dimples!

Crawfish Boil 2010

I am many months behind in capturing our memories, but I'm going to catch up! We hosted another fun Bug Boil at our house this year. The weather was a little wet, but everybody seemed to have a great time and enough money was raised give another student a scholarship!

Addy jane at 3 months old

At 3 months old we put Addy Jane in her Bumbo seat and she liked it! We were so happy she was able to sit up on her own and was now able to join us at the dinner table.

Helllloooo

Wow, I have a lot of catching up to do! I went back to work and time is flying by way too quickly!! These pictures are from the last week of April. Since then a lot has happened and I am going to do my best today to document it all. When these pics were taken, it was still cool outside, Vivi was 2 years and 4 months old, and Addy Jane was just about to turn 3 months old.

Vivi is too funny....just a constant source of entertainment. She was really into her baby dolls at this time. One day she was pushing her baby in her stroller and I asked her if the baby was sleeping. She looked at me and said, "No, she's hungry." She then proceeded to pick up her baby, pull up her shirt and smash her baby's face against her belly. She said, "She eats off my belly." She also picked up a blanket and covered her baby up. She has obviously picked up on how a baby nurses and thinks that they eat out of belly buttons!
Addy Jane is a just all over the place! She's already very bored in swings and always wants to be standing up or on her tummy.
Vivi is the best big sister! When Addy Jane is upset, she always says to her, "It's okay, Addy Jane, big sister is right here."

Things Vivi likes to do right now:
- Tumble Time (gymnastics she does at school)
- Yoga (this is another one of the activities they do at school)
- Going to the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings to get a "spin roll" aka cinnamon roll (that's what it sounds like when she says it.). She's already talking about going on Tuesday mornings.
- Eating at restaurants
- Going to the library to check out books and play on the computers
- Doing "work" around the house to earn money for her piggy bank
- Going to parties and playing with friends
- Playing in the sprinkler
- Eating outside on our deck
- Watering our plants
- Feeding our birds
- Riding her tricycle
- Eating cantaloupe
- Helping mommy or Grandma DeDe cook
- Helping daddy make coffee
- Helping daddy take Max outside to potty and feed him
- Oh and of course, watching Sesame Street

Vivi has THE BEST Daddy!

This was Vivi's first time to ever have her nails painted and her Daddy got to do it. I promised her I would paint them with her Piggy Paint and then I ended up having to feed Miss Addy Jane, so Daddy saved the day! Damian even showed her how to hold her hands up and how to wave them around and blow on them so they would dry faster. He did an excellent job!
Here's an update on Addy Jane at 3 months old:
- She is REALLY STRONG (her teacher even commented on how strong she is...Vivi was also this way).
- She holds her head up (she's already sitting in her Bumbo seat unsupported!).
- She kicks her legs out and wants to stand up tall when you hold her up.
- She rolls over and over.
- She has a really strong grip. She likes to grab my hair for leverage.
- She smiles a lot and loves to play that game where you bob your head around and she follows you and laughs.
- She coos with contentment and gets excited and giggles when she is happy.
- She likes to play with toys, especially the ones that make noises.
- She loves her sister and her Daddy...it's typically when Vivi is around that she gets excited and laughs the most.
- She still only cries when she is hungry or wants to be held (she still loved being carried around in the wrap).
- She started Montessori at 13 weeks old (I started back to work last Wednesday) and was already smiling and laughing the first day I dropped her off and she was near the other babies in her class.
Here she is with her teacher Ms. Jan. Ms. Jan has been a Montessori teacher for a long time and taught Primary classes forever before deciding she wanted to take care of the babies.
Here's Addy Jane on one of the cool days we've had, bundled up when we went for a walk. Since then, we finally bought a double stroller. Vivi loves being next to her sister. More pics to come!

Our Shining Star!!!

Montessori held their International Dinner on April 17th and Vivi's class learned about the country Italy. Vivi learned how to count to 10, her colors, and how to say hello and thank you in Italian! It has really stuck with her because when I asked her the other day what color shirt she wanted to wear, she told me "rosa" for pink (her favorite color)!

The kids also got on stage in front of 200 people and did a dance. This was Vivi's first time to perform like this and we were all wondering how she would react to the situation. We couldn't have been more proud to see how much she enjoyed herself. She was a shining star that day! I know for a fact she gets this from her Daddy!!!!! We got a little Video of her dancing, see below.
This is Vivi's BFF Hudson and his Mommy, Amy. Vivi and Hudson have been in the same class since they were babies. That's also her favorite teacher, Mrs. Marissa, in the yellow.
Vivi's other teacher, Mrs. Heather, is in the striped shirt. Her friend Charles has the curly hair and her friend Mady has the pig-tails.
This is Vivi's friend Aadyn. She loves any and all babies! She is usually the first to run over, followed by Mady, to greet us in the mornings when we go to Vivi's classroom. They are so excited to see Addy Jane! Vivi LOVES holding her sister, but only for about a minute and then she tells me her arm is tired.
Vivi is in the middle of the stage with the pink bow below. I still can't believe she didn't have stage fright (thank God)!
Papa Tom and Lola Grace were able to come watch the performance and take care of Addy Jane...
Our star in action! It's a little chaotic because these kids range in age from 18 months to 2 1/2, but it's so, so cute! Watch how Vivi kicks her little legs and sways her little hips...all with a big smile on her face. You can hear Damian cheering in the background. I love it! I can't wait until she is able to start taking dance classes.

Such a Blessed Weekend

April 10th, 11th, and 12th were a very special time for our family! On the 10th, we celebrated Emma's First Communion, on the 11th we celebrated Addy Jane's Baptism, and on the 12th Damian and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary (which Damian made VERY special).

Saturday, we drove down to Fort Smith to attend Emma's First Communion mass. After, Ron and Abby invited us all back to their hous
e for a delicious dinner. The cousins had a great time playing together, especially on the trampoline and swing set.
Sunday, all of our family got together again here in Fayetteville. It was a really beautiful weekend! The christening gown is the same one that Abby, Damian, Sarah, Emily, and Vivi wore! DeDe passed it along to us for the next generation to wear. I gave it a week long soaking in Oxy-Clean and it brightened right up! It is so beautiful and very precious and special to our family.

Proud Daddy...
Addy Jane with her Godparents, Ron and Abby...
Back at our house for some BBQ...
Bill and DeDe stayed with us for one more night before they flew back to Atlanta and we were able to have a little picnic in the park...
Sheila saw this picture and it reminded her of a picture of our mom and her when she was a little girl. My dad found the picture, see below. Funny how fashion makes a come-back!

We are very thankful for a perfect, beautiful weekend with so many wonderful events and so many loved ones to celebrate with!
