Monday

Here is Vivi at 7am this morning.  This is our new position for getting her to take medicine.
Montessori closed at 1:30pm today because of the weather, so Vivi and I had a fun afternoon at home playing with her wagon and reading books.  She gave Max, Ashley, and Huggy lots of love, too.

Not sure if you can tell from this picture, but it shows the tooth that has sprouted on the bottom right...

A Relaxing Weekend

We had another relaxing weekend!  My friend Jen stopped by my office on earlier that day and dropped off Vivi's birthday gift from Grayson.  Vivi had fun looking at the pretty butterflies on the wrapping paper and playing with the bow.  That night, we stayed home and had left overs.  Oh and Damian brought home a bottle of champagne...just because!
Saturday, we cleaned out a couple of closets and organized.  Our new sofa arrived for our sitting room off the kitchen, so Damian took care of getting it in the house.  That evening, we went to 5pm mass.  Vivi really enjoys singing along to the music, but sometimes gets just a liiiittttttle carried away!  After church, we decided to go out to dinner for a change.  Thanks mom and dad for the Outback gift certificate!
Besides her Puffs, Vivi ate bread and sweet potatoes at dinner.  This was her first time eating restaurant food.Sunday, we took it easy and did some more things around the house.  Vivi played...
Our new sofa...
Vivi opened her present from Grayson and it was a push toy with a bear that bangs on drums.  Very cute!
And what a treat, Aunt Sarah called and offered to come over and play with Vivi while Damian and I went grocery shopping.  We were glad we didn't have to take her out in the cold.  They had a great time reading books and walking around the house.

Our Little Toddler

Vivi is doing great in her new Toddler class!  Mr. Chris says it's like she's been part of the class for a long time.  She is enjoying the older kids, playing outside on nice days, and the large motor skills area.  Damian picked Vivi up this afternoon because I had a Women's Leadership Forum meeting at work.  When he got there, she was sitting at the little table with her new friend Bailey and they were eating graham crackers together.  So cute!

Apparently, she received her first incident report this morning.  Vivi was playing with a big ladybug toy and slipped and scraped her chin on the velcro.  Obviously it was the scratchy side of the velcro because he said she had a big band-aid (her first) on her chin!

Here are a few pictures from the last few days...
Vivi loves taking baths!  She does everything possible to help you get her undressed as quickly as possible so she can get in.  She likes looking at the water pour out of the faucet and then down the drain and talks to all her sea creature toys and ducks.  She also likes to put her pointer finger down the drain to feel the water going bye-bye.
Good one of Damian...

Vivian's 1st Tooth

Friday was Vivi's last day in her Infant Level 2 class.  She will be moving up to the Toddler class on Tuesday.  Damian and I are very excited because we have heard nothing but rave reviews about her new teacher, Mr. Chris.

We'll see what Vivi thinks about the next level.  I think she is ready to be with the older kids.  In the Toddler class, they take only one nap and they sleep on cots/ little pallets on the floor instead of in cribs!  Vivi will also be back with her buds, Hudson, Matteo, Jackson, and Henry.

I'm sad that she has to leave her current teacher, Miss Sam.  They have a real connection.  When I picked Vivi up on Friday afternoon, Miss Sam told me that she had been really sad that day because Vivi was her favorite.  I told her that I'm pretty sure that she was Vivi's favorite teacher, too!

I found out that night that Vivi's first tooth finally cut!  It is on the bottom right.  Teething has not been fun.  I read somewhere that some kids are not affected, but she definitely has been.  Maybe it's because she hasn't had to feel this kind of pain until now and it's been a whole year?!?!  Who knows, but thank God for Motrin!!
She LOVES wagons!
The activity table that Aunt Les, Uncle Tom, and Will gave her for her birthday came with a little phone on it, so now she's really into picking things up and acting like she's talking on the phone.  In this pic, she is using the Motrin syringe...
Our friend Sarah is so motivating!  She called on Saturday and asked if we wanted to go for a run, since it was supposed to be a beautiful day in the 50s.  We checked out the new trail that runs from South Fayetteville all the way up to Lake Fayetteville.  I think the entire trail is 6 miles and then if you connect up with the Lake Fayetteville trail it is another 5 miles, but I think we only did about 4 miles of it.  It is going to be really nice in the Spring!
For our Sunday night dinner, Damian grilled steaks and they were delicious!
Vivi walked around the kitchen while we were cooking.  She drags her pink caddy behind her these days.
Oooops, she ran over her toe!

Happy Birthday, Emma!

Happy Birthday, Emma!  It's hard to believe she is 7 already!!!!  When Damian and I started dating, Abby was pregnant with Emma.  I remember thinking that she was the most adorable pregnant person I had ever seen.  And look how beautiful Emma is...like mother, like daughter!  We love you, Emma!

Visit with Gpa Tom and Lola Grace

Vivi caught a stomach bug on Friday, so I spent the afternoon at home with her.  She got over it by Saturday, which was great because my parents came to visit.  They were going to watch Vivi while Damian and I went to a movie (just something we wanted to do since it's been 2 years since we had been to one).  Unfortunately, I ended up catching the stomach bug that Vivi had on Saturday afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend in bed.

Vivi had a great time with Grandpa Tom and Lola Grace.  They played with all of her new toys, books, and puzzles from Christmas and her birthday.

Vivi is still all gums.  Lola Grace gave her a celery stalk to chew on...good idea!  Our friend Lee also suggested freezing spoons (adult spoons) and letting her chew on them and she loves those, too.
My dad testing out my new steam mop!  I'm a big fan!!!
Since I was wasn't feeling well, Damian cooked a yummy dinner.
Vivi is fascinated with teeth.  She wants to tap them, touch them, just get her fingers on them, and then cracks up giggling.  I wonder what she'll think when she gets her own?

Will Gordon is 2!

Will Gordon turned 2 this week!!!  Happy Birthday, Will!  His party was on Saturday and it was a blast!  Notice that we were outside...and it's January!  It was in the low 70's that day.

Les and Will...isn't he handsome?!
This was Vivi's first birthday party for one of her friends.  She had so much fun with all of the older kids.
Vivi always enjoys Will's toys!

Vivi's 1 Year Check Up

Vivi had her 1 year check up today.  She's doing great other than a nagging ear infection.  She's had it for about a month, so we are trying one more round of antibiotics.  On top of that, she is finally getting some teeth!  No sprouts yet, but her bottom gums are swollen.  She's also been much more interested in her fingers, my fingers, and anything else she can rub against her gums.  Needless to say, she hasn't been very interested in eating.  She has lost a little weight from her last appointment.

Height - 29 1/4 inches (75th percentile)
Weight - 18lbs 9oz (15th percentile) -- we are working on getting this back up!

They took blood from her big toe to get her hemoglobin level.  I guess it has to be between 11-14 to be able to switch over to cow's milk.  Vivi's was 12.3, so Dr. Gregory said to switch her over whenever we are ready.
Vivi also got 4 other shots...2 in each leg.  She was not happy!!!  She likes the band-aids though.
Apparently, there is a terrible stomach bug going around town because Sarah called in the afternoon saying she was very ill, then we got a call from Boriana saying that she and Collins were also very ill.  We hope they all get well very soon!

Because Boriana and Collins were feeling so terrible, Milla came over to our house for a few hours until her Grandpa and Grandma could drive up from Little Rock to pick her up and take her home with them.  Milla is almost 6 months old and is just a doll...all cheeks and eyes.  She is so pretty!  She and Vivi had a great time playing, and Vivi is learning how to share.  They are going to be BFFs!
Milla loves standing up, the exersaucer, and the bouncy doorway jumper!  We think she will be crawling any day now!
The girls playing with the learning home from Gpa Bill and Gma DeDe.  It sings such cute songs!
