Dinner with the Girls

One of my best girl friends, Rebekah, was in town for work last week.  She works for Horizon (our favorite milk!) and was in town for meetings with Walmart.  She and her husband now live in Colorado and I'm pretty sure they will never move back to AR, so we will have to go visit! Rebekah was supposed to be in town a month ago, but that's when the ice storm hit.  Her trip was rescheduled and Jennifer, Kristina, and I were able to get together for dinner at Pesto.  Yum!  Unfortunately, Les wasn't able to join us because her Grandfather passed away.  We were thinking about her and missing her.
Thank you Damian for taking care of Vivi!  He really enjoys Vivi and Daddy time.
Vivi's latest favorite food is grape tomatoes...
Kristina is going to have a baby next week...doesn't she look great!  She and Shannon have not found out whether they are having a boy or girl (just like the first time with Haley).  We can't wait to meet new baby Lambert!!!

Little Miss Independent

Our little Vi has gotten to where she likes to do things herself.  She is carrying her brush in this picture.  It's so cute to see her go through the motions of running it through her hair.  Most of the time, she has it backwards, but it's neat to watch her learn all these new things!  She even brushes mommy's and daddy's hair.
A few weeks ago Vivi was walking around the house while we were getting dinner ready and it got quiet.  I asked Damian to go check on her and he was so surprised to see her in her high chair...we didn't know she could climb into it by herself!  Now, whenever she's hungry she goes over and gets herself situated and I'm sure she's thinking, "come on mom and dad, I'm reaaaddyyy!"
Friday night, the Andrews came over for dinner (stir fry).  We had a fun time visiting with them.  It's so cute to see Vivi and Milla together!
Auntie B watching Milla and Vivi play with Milla's red shoes...
Boriana is a great cook!  She really has a talent for whipping things up.  She and I have a similar style of cooking...recipes are just guidelines.  She brought over the most delicious key lime pie.
Collins showing Damian all the great features of the Andrews's new ride...a Volvo wagon!  It is beeeaauuuutiful!!!!

Wednesday

Vivi had a great Wednesday at school, including TWO servings of lunch (spaghetti, broccoli, and fruit salad).  The weather was nice, so the kids were able to go on a buggy ride which she always enjoys.
Reading her Little People book.  She loves seeing what is under all those flaps.
We also came home to a spotless house!  Damian and I finally enlisted some help in keeping the house clean since we were tired of devoting our weekends to trying to catch up.  Les and Tom, Boriana and Collins, and Steph and Brian had been telling us for a while about how great it is to come home to a clean house...and they were right!  All of our laundry is even folded...yea!
Steph and Brian joined us for dinner tonight.  We had a great time catching up with them before they head out on a ski vacation on Friday.  Annddddd, we got to talk about baby stuff!  Vivi will have a new little friend when baby Kendall arrives in September.  We are so excited!!!!!  Congratulations guys!!!!!!!!!!

Dinner Special This Evening

We did something a little different this evening...instead of going straight home from school, we headed down to Alma to have dinner with Gpa Bill, Gma DeDe, Emma, and Sam...and Aunt Sarah and Kate were also able to drive in from Oklahoma City!  Bill was in town for a meeting and is flying back to Atlanta in the morning.
Sam was either pooped or not feeling well, because this is the way he spent the entire meal and this is the only picture I got of him.  Vivi was giving him hugs and playing with his hair.
Vivi must be checking out Gpa's glasses...
Aunt Sarah and Kate...
Emma, fresh from dance lessons...
We're glad we got to see you all and are looking forward to our next visit!!!  xoxo

President's Day

We had a great Monday!  Vivi and I slept in until 7am and then had a nice breakfast together.  She is eating a wide variety of foods again...YEA!  We think that her fondness for beige foods had to do with being on antibiotics.  Some of her favorite foods of the moment are clementines, avocado, smoked gouda, cottage cheese, and spinach cooked in tomato sauce.

We met Damian for sushi and found out that Vivi really likes tofu and caterpillar rolls...well, the avocado off the top, anyway!
In the afternoon, my friend Jen and her son Grayson came over for a play date with Vivi.  Grayson is about 6 months older than Vi.  They had fun playing together!

Vivi's 2nd Valentine's Day

We had a very fun Valentine's Day weekend!  The weekend kicked off to a good start on Friday when I was talking to one of my co-workers and he mentioned the office was closed on Monday.  I'm so glad I stopped to talk to him because I had no idea we were off for President's Day now that we are a Nestle company.  Anyway, three day weekend, yea!!!

Saturday, we went over to Vivi's friend Ava's house for a Vday party.  Vivi and Ava were in the infant room together at Montessori.  Ava's parents, Vanessa and Chris, put together the cutest Valentine's Day celebration.  The food was delish and there were tons of sweets from Rick's.

Vivi had a ton of fun playing with Ava, Sadie, Alexis, and Addison.  Damian and I enjoyed meeting new mommies and daddies.
Cutie-pie Ava...thank you for inviting us to your party!
Vanessa personalized sippy cups for each of the girls...
Damian cracking the girls up with peeky boo...
Saturday evening, we went to church.  We are so thrilled that the last two weekends, we have not had to take Vivi out of the sanctuary during mass.  She still likes to sing along.  Ohhhh, and for the last month, she's been giving kisses.  It was really cute during church because she grabbed Damian's face and gave him a big smack on his lips.  She even gives her Lollie Dollie kisses on the lips.

After church, we had a verrrryyyyy romantic Valentine's dinner at La Huerta (at the newer, family friendly location on the East side of town, not the fish bowl margarita location we used to frequent).

Tubes!!!

Vivi went to see the ENT specialist, Dr. Gluth, on Monday and he recommended that she have tubes inserted.  She has had fluid in her ear that just will not completely go away.  Damian and I were so happy with his diagnosis and that she is finally going to get some relief!  Everybody has told us how great this procedure is and what a huge difference it makes.  Also, the Dr. Gluth said that it is so minor that getting your tooth drilled on is a major procedure compared to this one.  It literally takes less than 5 minutes.  They had an opening this morning, so we arrived bright and early at 6:30am.

Our friend Britny works at the surgery center and made us feel good about everything.  Her friend, and also Stephanie Kendall's friend, Sam administered the anesthesia and she was so sweet.  Everything went smoothly and it's just a regular ole day for us, other than a few hours with doctors and nurses this morning.

Daddy helping Vi into her little gown...
They were really nice and let her take this little chair back into our waiting room...
This is one of Vivi's favorite books from Auntie Abby, Uncle Ron, Emma, andSam.  It's about fairies...
She's saying, "Okaaayyyy...I'm ready and haven't had any milk since 10:30 last night!"

What a Treat!

Vivi received a package in the mail on Monday and it was a special Valentine's Day treat from Gma DeDe and Gpa Bill.  She really enjoyed seeing what was inside the package.  The books were a hit and the outfit is adorable...and Daddy and Mommy are enjoying the chocolate!  Thanks Gma and Gpa!!!

The Big Game Weekend

These pictures are from Super Bowl weekend. Damian was in Kansas City for work and didn't get back until late Saturday night. Brian and Stephanie were sweet enough to invite Vivi and me to dinner and we decided to go to Noodles. It was yummy! Thanks for haning out with us, Brian and Steph!

The next day, the Gordon's invited us over to watch the Super Bowl and we had a lot of fun. The food was delicious and we had a great time with all the kiddos. Having friends with kids the same age is the best!!
